MegaPoP gives Internet Service Providers (ISPs) dial-up network access to provide internet services to their customers.
MegaPoP provides carrier grade dial-up access that is scalable and reliable, allowing ISPs to outsource all or part of their dial-up access network requirements. MegaPoP can replace multiple ISDN services.
MegaPoP allows ISPs to:

- capture geographic regions ranging from capital cities to the whole country;
- outsource the access network for Telstra Wholesale to manage.
With MegaPoP, untimed local call PSTN dial-up access can be provided to ISP customers through a single national dial-up 019 number. MegaPoP lets ISPs expand their business with minimal capital investment by offering total dial-up access across Australia.
MegaPoP terminates dial-up PSTN/ISDN calls on Telstra dial gateways and delivers data traffic on those calls to ISP networks. It uses Layer 2 tunnelling and Telstra ATM for interconnection. With a single Telstra ATM connection to ISP premises, MegaPoP makes internet access both cost-effective and convenient for ISPs and their customers.
